About Polly Tobin Goddard
Growing up playing in the waters of the Housatonic River and in the fields of my family's small dairy farm in the northwest corner of Connecticut connected me to the land and environment in ways that it took years for me to understand. As a child I didn't know what "conservationists" or "environmentalists" were but when I learned about them later, I realized that in my heart, I had been both all along.
Pursuing my interest in working in the outdoors I went to college in Maine and studied Outdoor Recreation Management which opened the door to adventure and recreation job opportunities across the country. While that career track was a lot of fun, I felt that I wanted to make a difference in the world and thus began a natural career transition to the field of conservation. For the last several years I managed non-profit organizations focused on conservation, education, and leadership. These experiences afforded me opportunities that I otherwise might not have had - like spending a month in Mississippi leading a disaster relief crew after Hurricane Katrina with the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps and Gulf Coast Recovery Corps.
After moving to Cape Cod and working for a small, local land trust, I was ready for a new challenge and Bum Boosa™ was a natural fit for me as I believe in living as "green" as possible and always look for ways that the average family can do the right thing. I'm thrilled to be part of this brand new "company with a conscience"!
In addition to working with Bum Boosa™, I do website content management, grassroots marketing, and non-profit special event planning for small organizations from my home. My husband, step-son, and I live in Marstons Mills and enjoy all that life on the Cape has to offer.
